You had the right to remain human
Anything you said was a first amendment guarantee
You had the right to not have crimes committed against you
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of safety
In the event your rights are violated
You have the right to a life of therapy and the pursuit of justice
He has the right to remain silent
Nothing you say is used against him
He has the right to the presumption of innocence
He has the right to the presumption you’re a liar
You have the nerve to say it’s not good enough
You have the nerve to say what about me
You have the right to hire an attorney
If you can afford one, it’s your financial responsibility
You have the right to put yourself on trial
Anything you’ve ever said and done will be used against you
You have the right to place yourself beneath a microscope operated by the defiler
Just for a chance at a justice that feels a lot like destruction.
You do not have the right to make mistakes you don’t pay for
You have the right to remain human but it will be used against you
He has the right to send you to therapy and get a copy of your file
He has the right to torment you
You have the right to emotional support but only if he gets to see
You do not have the right to privacy
You have the right to keep fighting this battle that even if you win you lose
And he has the right to abuse.
You have the tiniest sliver of hope that in the end the truth will win
You have the strength to not give in
You have gotten used to this
Your rights have been so highly disregarded
Your victory will be recovering the right to be flawed
In your wildest dreams
You can finally breathe
Self-belief provoking. Couldn’t make out context. But interesting piece of work
